Night session.
It’s been snowing here in Brooklyn for a good part of the weekend (+ MLK Jr Day) and I hadn’t had a lot of chances to get outside, so tonight after meeting with some friends at the cafĂ© I headed to the park for a stroll. The moment I entered the park I was struck by the glow of the streetlights on the hill and the way they surrounded the illuminated monument.
I ran the couple blocks home, grabbed my SLR and a plastic grocery bag and did my best to stabilize my camera on whatever I could find.
It was getting pretty hard to brace my camera on playground equipment or park benches that were covered in snow(hence the plastic bag), and after a couple shots with 10-15 second exposures I bumped the ISO and opened the aperture and just started shooting handheld. To my surprise, the handheld shots turned out really well and with just a little correction I’m pretty pleased with the results.

I’ve just uploaded a couple more photos to Flickr from the recent snow days. Check them out here.
